Easter Bread

And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”- John 12: 23-25

I probably should have written this on Wednesday. It’s not possible to get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday morning. Paul says in Acts 17:30 that God at times winks at our ignorance. I think that’s proof that God does understand our nature as humans to lean towards tradition.

Another aspect of this season is the Easter Bunny. What does this have to do with Jesus? The bunny represents fertility, the ability to multiply abundantly. Instead of complaining about the Pagan roots that are stuck in Christianity, how about another perspective to stir the pure mind.

“unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” – verse 24.
Have you taken a look at the harvesting of wheat? It’s more amazing and abundant than any rabbit can reproduce. Here we find Jesus saying unless a grain dies it cannot reproduce. Jesus was referring to Himself, unless He died He would not be able to multiply Himself. Unless He died other children of God would not be produced for earth to see God’s glory. He had to die to multiply. God’s idea of multiplying goes beyond natural fertility. It’s spiritual – the concept of being born again, made new. Each person alive now has the opportunity to attain the nature and character of God.

Jesus, our Messiah, was and still is the perfect example. He testified that God’s word is true and fulfilled it through His death and resurrection. Though that was good enough, the aim was also for Jesus to have a bunch of Mini-mes. A replica of His nature, His heart, His love, His power and His salvation extending through all who believe. Jesus said, as the Father has sent me, so send I you. As Jesus abounds in the Father’s Love so we are commanded to abide in the vine to bear fruit.
Jesus has been multiplying Himself for thousands of years now and He will continue until the time appointed for His return. I’m grateful to have an opportunity to share in God’s grand salvation plan of sending His Son to lose His life to gain the lives of humanity. No bunny can do that.

I encourage all of us to ponder God’s redemption plan this season. The Easter bunny doesn’t represent this season for me, the Cross could, the Empty Tomb could, how about a field of wheat? How about wheat that in turn makes bread and Jesus is the bread of life and we break bread the Word of God and we share this bread (Jesus Christ) and whoever believes gains life.

Who Am I?

Sermon Outline

Taken from 2 Samuel 7: 18
In a private moment, David spoke with God.
Our public and private life before the Lord

2 Samuel 12 – Nathan confronts David about his sin.
Psalm 51 – David repents
1 Peter 5:6-8 ESV Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

  • What does it mean to humble oneself before the Lord?
  • What does it mean for the heart to be established by grace?

Hebrews 13:9 – Don’t be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by food regulations since those who observe them have not benefited.
When I lived as a servant and not a son because I went to 116 Drive – under the Law example.
Ephesians 3:16-17 – I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth…

The letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

2 Corinthians 3:4-6 NKJV – And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The Righteousness of God

Sermon Outline:

The Official title of the message is “Relinquishing the Rights to Feelings”. I was only able to capture the beginning of it, hence the above title.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. – Psalm 119:165

The inevitable Offense
“Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!” – Luke 17:1
Offenses are at an all time high.
The man made Righteous
Psalm 112:6-8 ESV
For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
Explanation
Psalm 24:5
He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Acts 10:1-8 – The Account of Cornelius – The justification from God. Not of works
By Grace are we saved through faith.
The main offense Johns Inquiry Luke 7: 18-23

  • Blessed are those who are not offended because of me
  • Let’s examine the Situation
  • How did Jesus see John.

About Us – Let us have this peace in us. Let us have this truth in us. Let us have this rest.
David the Forgotten Lad.
The introduction of David.

The Basis – The setup
Despite his glaring flaws, the David is described as a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22). David was far from perfect, but his faith and zeal made him the standard against which all Israel’s future kings would be measured against.
Saul was rejected by God as King. Here we find David. A man called to do God’s will. What we cannot see. The background. What would entice a young man to know the Lord. What gave him the ability to stand up to Goliath?
These are attributes you can only cultivate in the secret place of your heart with what you have and what you have been given.
Character is who you are when you are alone
God’s Will – David wrote and wrote and wrote some more. Over 2000 years we are reading and learning from the Psalm of David.
This mission was started in 1969 and in 2022 it has expanded till today
Billy Graham Evangelistic Ministries
The Daily Bread – Mat Dehaan – 1938
There is a dream in your heart and your heart is His prayer.
Humility and boasting in the Lord:
Confidence in God – Psalm 119: 98 – 100
Hebrews 3:6
Verse Concepts
but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house—whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.
Such confidence before God is ours through Christ. 5Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim that anything comes from us, but our competence comes from God. – 2nd Cor 3: 4

Source: https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Boasting-In-God

Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies – 1 Corinthians 8:1

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than himself. – Philippians 2:3

What Is Pride?
It is boasting in self and not the Lord.
It is taking credit ourselves for what God alone can do.
It is relying on self and not God.
It is feeling sufficiency in our own strength and not in God’s.
It is the disinclination to admit that we are mere earthen vessels so that another gets the glory.
It is the unwillingness to admit weaknesses that may accent the power of Christ.

More Than A Second Chance

More Than A Second Chance

Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that is why she loved so much. But the one who is forgiven little loves little.” – LUKE 7:47

I often wondered why Aaron wasn’t punished for making the Golden Calf. Three thousand people died due to Him deciding to make the calf. He was Moses’ right-hand man. When Moses was doubtful, God gave him Aaron. Aaron was called to be a priest, yet we find Him breaking the first commandment as it was being written.

Aaron was in a place where God could smite him. Yet, he was forgiven and allowed to enter His purpose as Priest for Israel. How was that possible? Did God simply overlook the matter, was He favored above others?

I never thought much about Aaron’s heart towards God. All I saw was a man who didn’t see the wrath of God, who should have seen it. I never thought about God’s heart/character in this situation. God chose to be merciful to Aaron.

My thought was Aaron should have been disqualified from being a priest. That was my fleshy thinking.

“You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume. Therefore I tell you, because her many sins have been forgiven, she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.” Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”… – Luke 7:46-48.

Aaron was called to make atonement for the sins of the people of Israel before the Lord each year. That means he stood in place as an intercessor. He was called to stand before God on behalf of the people and make atonement. I never thought about what his mindset could be.

What was the state of his heart? Aaron knew firsthand what it meant to sin; he knew what it meant to rebel because he built the Golden Calf. He engineered it. He led God’s people into sin, and he watched many of them die. But now stands before God as one receiving grace.

He knows the fullness of his sinful heart and the fullness of God’s love, grace and mercy. How much more qualified does he stand to represent the people?

Because Aaron was deeply involved in the rebellion, he could not experience Moses’ feelings of anger and frustration, similar to when Moses cried “Drink ye rebels” as he smote the rock.

Because Aaron was a part of it, he would always have the heart to say God have mercy on your people and forgive us of our sins.

He would not lose heart or become frustrated as the one who stands in place of God’s people because he was forgiven much.

A Lifestyle of Faith

Prayers that Bring Healing

By John Eckhardt

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”- Mark 11:23

“Grow up in faith. Open your mouth and speak to talk to sickness.” Prayers that Bring Healing Pg.7.

It’s a wonderful journey. I asked myself is this a magic trick as God’s children we just go around speaking to everything and every situation at random. Holy Spirit is revealing to me a lifestyle of faith. A life still of faith is growing our relationship with God to the point where we think and speak as He would in a circumstance. Jesus spoke and moved as the Holy Spirit lead Him. The truth is growth only takes place with practice and skill Jesus said “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.” John 7:16-18.

God is life.
