A Lifestyle of Faith

Prayers that Bring Healing

By John Eckhardt

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”- Mark 11:23

“Grow up in faith. Open your mouth and speak to talk to sickness.” Prayers that Bring Healing Pg.7.

It’s a wonderful journey. I asked myself is this a magic trick as God’s children we just go around speaking to everything and every situation at random. Holy Spirit is revealing to me a lifestyle of faith. A life still of faith is growing our relationship with God to the point where we think and speak as He would in a circumstance. Jesus spoke and moved as the Holy Spirit lead Him. The truth is growth only takes place with practice and skill Jesus said “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.” John 7:16-18.

God is life.

It’s not If, It’s How

Prayers that Bring Healing

By John Eckhardt

“It is something Jesus paid for…He has made healing available to you through many avenues.” Prayers that Bring Healing pg. 5

Jesus does miracles. I’ve seen a leg physically lengthen before my eyes. I Jesus’ name I prayed for people and the pain left instantly. Personally I’ve experienced development healing in the name of Jesus.

Holy Spirit is revealing to me, healing is not always laying on of hands, Healing is present as we believe we received by what Christ accomplished it is revealed.

Take a look Jesus didn’t healing everyone the same way. In one instance He spoke a word in another instant He made clay with saliva and placed on someones eye. In another case he did nothing someones faith pulled virtue from Him. These examples go to show. It is healer that is most important for healing.- not the healing itself.

There are quite a number of pharmaceutical drugs on the market. Most suggest consult your physician before consumption. Your doctor is familiar with your condition. You could access to a pharmacy, but choosing any medication can prove detrimental. Jesus is the more than the Great Physician: He is our Creator “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:3.

Apostle John Eckhardt in his book “Prayer that Brings Healing” lists twelve ways of manifested healing:

  1. Healing through the laying on of hands (Luke 4:40)
  2. Healing through deliverance (Matt 8:16)
  3. Healing through breaking curses (Gal. 3:13)
  4. Healing through anointing oil (Mark 6:16)
  5. Healing through Faith (Mark 11:23)
  6. Healing through virtue or touch (Mark 5:29-30)
  7. Healing through the presence of God (Luke 5:17)
  8. Healing through prayer (Matt. 21:22)
  9. Healing through the gift of Healing (1 Cor, 12:9-28)
  10. Healing through Fasting (Isa. 58:8)
  11. Healing through the word (Ps. 107:20)
  12. Healing through cloths/clothing (Acts 19:12)

Out of all these methods which has Jesus chosen for you? This is one of the reason a our hearts should be set on the one who heals. As we believe we receive. As we follow after Him, He is faithful to heal. Start with trusting Him, so as not be lead astray by the flesh and the cunning of men. Jesus says Holy Spirit with guide us in all truth. John 16:13

Introduction to Our God

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Daniel 11:32

Many of us go to a religious institution, whether it is a church, a temple or the mountains. The two scriptures above relates not to an exercise, or learning about GOD, but a KNOWING. I’ve been saved for about 17 years, with the aspiration of being a pastor. The other day Holy Spirit, spoke to my heart and communicated this to me. You have everything in Christ in God settle down, there is no goal to reach. Be still and know I am God. He was saying get to know me. As I’m writing this its early morning I don’t have a message to prepare, however I’m getting to know God at His pace. It is in the process of knowing and growing in intimacy exploits and activity will come.

Holy Spirit opened my eyes. In the Old Testament Old covenant, we see men called by God and anointed by God. It was am immediate call they heard God’s voice today; they were preaching to the people tomorrow. The New Testament the New Covenant is based on better promises in Christ Jesus. It’s a more intimate personal covenant, were Jesus spent three years with the disciples, told them to wait on the power of the Holy Spirit. It was about another three years before Gentiles were brought to the fold. It was all a timely process of relationship. The new covenant is based on Forgiveness of sins to know Jesus and the Father to become like Jesus. That’s life process.

This leads me to GOD. Who is the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and of course Jesus and all of Us? The deeper begins.

In Community

In Community

By John Eckhardt

“Healing accompanies the kingdom message…not only should expect to be healed, but you should know you are to pass the healing on to  all those around you. That is true kingdom living” Pg 2-3. Prayers That Bring Healing by John Eckhardt

I thank Holy Spirit for every inspiration. One of the thinks I do is take a look at the first century church through scripture and through history. The early church was based on community; there was the church in Corinth, The church in Ephesus, The church in Philipe etc. We did find a name with a founder or denominational title. What you’ll find the church took care of each other as family as people, not as a name.

Healing and every other gift should flow in community. On of the things that has enriched my life is knowing believers from across the state across the globe. Each person has impacted my life so much from so far, why because the church is a more than a physical community but a spiritual community in Heaven at the right hand of God.

even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:5-7

This leads me to ask the question “What can I give?” Everything shared or donated contributes to this healing. As I said in the introduction healing lead me in search of the presence of God. Still in search for the presence of God, Holy Spirit is renewing my mind to live in this Kingdom on earth.

Introduction

Prayers that Bring Healing

By John Eckhardt

As I was reading “Prayers That Bring Healing: Overcome Sickness, Pain, and Disease. God’s Healing is for You! (Prayers for Spiritual Battle)”  by John Eckhardt  I came across a line which read

“Where His presence and glory dwell no sin or sickness can coexist”

The Holy Spirit was leading me to study healing. The above line opened my eyes to see that His presence was a pre requisite to healing. In turn this lead me to ask “What is your presence Lord?”

The following writings document my journey to His presence. As I’m writing the Holy Spirit is reminding of when I got saved. I’d read the scriptures night and day unending. Holy Spirit revealed truth of Jesus Christ so profound. Intimacy has nothing to do with the crowd, but with God and I alone. My surroundings may never hear, but God hears and sees in this quiet place. I still have the desire to preach. After 17 years of being saved, the Lord allowed me to be satisfied with the better part. Thank you Holy Spirit Amen.

Repentance

What is your presence Lord?

(Acts 3:19 NKJV) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

Repentance proceeds the presence of the Lord presence of the Lord. I say this because of the evidence of John the Baptist. Jesus Christ is Emmanuel “God with us” [ Isaiah 7:14, Mat. 1:23]. Jesus didn’t simply come one the seen. He was announced. He was prepared for. John the baptist came crying in the wilderness “prepare ye the way of the Lord, make the crocked path straight.” Mat. 3:3.
John the Baptist started his ministry in AD28. Since Jesus started His ministry around age 30; If almost accurate to say John ministered for 2 years before Jesus started his ministry. Jews practiced a form of baptism called Tevilah. (This again seems to be what the man at pool was waiting to be immersed.)
* The Jewish rite of water purifification in a Mikvah (pool) was known as TevilahTevilah was by full body immersion with “living” water from a Spring. The Mikvah had the proportions 3 cubits long & 1 cubits deep and 1 cubit wide. This was done for purifications before certain events such as spiritual cleansing, coming into the presence of God, marriage, and also after certain events such as childbirth and disease. Tevilah was also one of three requirements for conversion of the Gentiles to Judaism. The washing of hands & feet commonly practiced was a miniature Tevilah.
There is a definite preparation for the presence or coming of God. You know I’m thinking about it. Many times we tell people to come as you are, here look at the preparation for the Jesus to come to then Baptize with fire. Are we taking away from the truth of repentance. Which doesn’t mean only to stop or turn around but to consider. Many people say I can’t come until I straighten out my life. We tell them no come as you are and here we find John the baptist preparing the way. We know we are sinners, we know we need to repent. There is no quick fix, but steadfast grace to cleanse and make whole – the steady work of the Holy Spirit. There is a steadfast preparation an inching ahead to Christ being formed in us.
Penitent sinner: This is a word we don’t here often (feeling or showing sorrow and regret for having done wrong; repentant)*

The Things Above

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  Col 3:1”

Jesus has captivated my heart with His word. Jesus says if your eye be single your whole body will be full of light and if your eye be evil behold how great it the darkness. At times  they were physical things that I gaze at in my heart. But Holy Spirit is saying look continually to Jesus, you can see Him, I could ask what does He look like. In Hebrews we are asked to “look onto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.” -Heb. 12:2

We look with the eyes of the Spirit after all the word says “we are seated with Christ in Heavenly places.”-Eph. 2:6 This is fact not fiction we are indeed seated with Him. Jesus went on to say we are “not of this world” in John 17:14. We are pilgrims on this earth.

Jesus gave four examples of people in the parable of the sewer. I was the one where the cares of this life choked the word, but “God is faithful… to whom he has called out of Darkness. 1Pe 2:9”  The problem lies when I think I want something besides the word to be my comfort and my joy.

“Set your affection” . Their came a time when my affections were crossed I longed for people of this earth, but I find Christ never gave up on me.

Jesus is our Savior and our Lord, the truth is we always need saving. If we know we always need a Savior  we’ll find He’s always willing to forgive and give us a new start. However if we think we can stand without him or on our own we will believe we can never get up again.

That is what happen to me I thought because of my failures I was disqualified, but the truth stands He loves me and I need a Savior every day.

The Pharisees thought they had it made because they were very religious on the out side. That was me. And when my heart was broken I assumed God gave upon because I could keep His word. Never the less the faithfulness of God prevailed and restored me.

“The things above”. These are love, joy peace and hope. These are practical things in hard times. Having a heart on this things above does not mean being a theologian or being super spiritual, it means trusting what Jesus accomplished on the cross for me, for us for the world.

Of course the enemy will attach, but remember keep my eyes and our eyes on Jesus.

What is humility to me?
I will always fall short, always need improvement, always need the help from Jesus and others and my security is never in the things or do accomplish, but my security is in Jesus Christ(His Love for me).

Blessed to be a Blessing – Kingdom man

Blessed to be a Blessing – Kingdom man

By Tony Evans

Pg. 105

What does that mean to me?
I’m beginning to understand that concept again: being a blessing. I’m learning that we all have something to offer each other in Christ. I felt helpless like I always needed someone to bail me. I felt like I would forever be on the receiving end. But I see in the Kingdom of God everyone is blessed with a gift to be a blessing to each other whatever it may be. I have substance my substance is Christ. Christ is the strength of my life. Christ is all of us substance. Christ is in all so we never look down, but look up at each other.
Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[a] all.
What is the application?
How can I be a blessing to my neighbor, that is the question to ask.
“You know that you have been blessed when you are able to enjoy the goodness of God despite the trials and tribulations associated with what you are doing. And you have access to enough strength, assets, and capacity to do what you have been called to do.”

This is so true I’ve been going through to be established financially. Pressure from bills along with a project that is quite a challenge. I’m still standing in the fight. I was and still running the race of life with patience. You know I thought life was absence of trouble, but life is life and more life in trouble. It doesn’t mean everyday I going through something. It means I have rest in the storm.
Through this trying time I prayed and prayed to the point my heart is set on Jesus because He is the keeper in the storm. (At the moment Hurricane Isaac is might be heading this way).
Everybody is Christ is Strong. Because He is all our strength. “God is above all then in all and through all”

Authority by Naming – Kingdom man (Pg.110)

Authority by Naming – Kingdom man (Pg.110)

By Tony Evans

Pg 110

“It was Adams responsibility to name”
I was given the opportunity to name my wife
name my job
name my house
The point of naming is to change the world.
At this moment I have 2 opportunities of sewing to change the world
  1. Software your way
    1. restarting his business and assisting him is going my business also
  2. Maringa International
    1. This couple are aiding many in Africa
I’m working on life changing projects. I causes me to ask my motive in life. It is Christ? or an Ideal?
What would possess me to move from Office Max like that? It was an Ideal. The ideal of the church structure not Christ. Church is where its at. Christ is in all and through all. Let me Christ centered. Let it be a place that equips and sends out.
I’ve been asking myself what is needed to make us live beyond self discipline? It is the Holy Spirit. I learned self discipline like many others instead of reliance on Christ. How did that happen? Simple by being diligent, but what happens when the earth shift under me? It’s not the discipline that is the foundation it is Jesus. Jesus spoke this parable against those who trusted in themselves…two men went up to pray…
What happens when my discipline fails…Jesus never fails. Job was disciplined, but his confidence should not have been in His discipline. It should be in God. God be glorified.
